Tokyo Police Club Announce Final Tour, Share Two Singles

Tokyo Police Club have announced an expansive 2024 farewell tour across North America and shared their final single, featuring the double A-sides “Just a Scratch” and “Catch Me If You Can.” Stream the tracks below.

“The Final Tour” kicks off on August 1st in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and will stop in cities including Vancouver, Los Angeles, Chicago, Austin, Atlanta, New York City, and Washington, DC. It will wrap up with a previously announced four-night run at Toronto’s HISTORY from November 26th to 29th. Born Ruffians, Hollerado, Monowhales, and Good Kid will support on select dates.

A fan-presale for the newly announced dates begins on Wednesday, March 13th at the band’s website (use code TPC4EVER), with the general on-sale following on Friday, March 15th via Ticketmaster.

“To still see the same familiar faces who have been coming out since the beginning of our touring days and to be connected with so many people through music over almost 20 years of life is truly an honour,” TPC guitarist Josh Hook said in a statement. “This final tour will be the best retirement party anyone could ask for.
Thank you so much for being with us on this wild ride.”

Back in January, Tokyo Police Club announced they were calling it quits following their final hometown performances in Toronto, and the double A-side single serves as a parting gift for fans. Speaking about “Just a Scratch” and “Catch Me If You Can,” keyboardist Graham Wright said the songs are “full of everything that made me fall in love with this band in the first place.”

Wright continued, “I hear bits that we might have come up with in the garage back then, and other bits we could never have dreamed up until right now. I hear all the music we ever loved and all the music we ever made — and most importantly, I hear US, the four of us, the hivemind that is TPC, with all its ideas and enthusiasm.”

High school friends Dave Monks, Greg Alsop, Wright, and Hook formed Tokyo Police Club in the mid-aughts. Their debut EP, A Lesson in Crime, dropped in 2006 via Canadian indie label Paper Bag Records. After breaking out with their 2008 debut album, Elephant Shell, and 2010’s Champ, TPC released two more studio full-lengths: Forcefield and 2018’s TPC.
