Taylor Swift Changes Social Pics to Black-and-White, Possibly Teasing reputation (Taylor’s Version)

Taylor Swift has changed all of her profile pictures across social media to black-and-white, prompting speculation that she may be teasing the release of reputation (Taylor’s Version).

The mysterious move was noticed on Sunday morning, when eagle-eyed Swifties reported that Swift’s profile pictures — a shot of her from the artwork of Midnights — were switched out for black-and-white versions. If Swifties’ cryptographic skills are on-point, this could be a reference to the black-and-white aesthetics of Swift’s 2017 release, reputation.

Backing Swifties’ case, there have been murmurs of a forthcoming reputation re-release for a few weeks. For starters, since the arrival of 1989 (Taylor’s Version) last October, reputation and Swift’s self-titled debut album are the only remaining records to be re-recorded for the Taylor’s Version series, leading many to believe that reputation could be due next.

Additionally, last month Swifties noticed that many in Swift’s orbit — including Blake Lively, Taylor Lautner, Gigi Hadid, Este Haim, Travis Kelce, and more — had changed their profile pictures to black-and-white as well.

Other clues include Swift’s recent style choices, like a long hairstyle reminiscent of her circa 2018 look, and a pattern of wearing green, which just might be a reference to the snake imagery of reputation.

Last August, Swift shared the first taste of a re-recorded reputation: a snippet of “Delicate (Taylor’s Version),” included in a clip for the Prime Video series The Summer I Turned Pretty. Later that month, a preview of “Look What You Made Me Do (Taylor’s Version)” arrived as well, for the opening titles for Prime Video thriller series Wilderness.

The original reputation arrived in November 2017 and was Swift’s sixth studio album, as well as her final release with Big Machine Records. It included hits like “End Game,” “…Ready for It?” and “Look What You Made Me Do.”

All of this arrives as Swift is gearing up to attend the 2024 Grammy Awards tonight, where she’s nominated for six awards, including Album of the Year for Midnights. If she wins, she’ll have the record for the most Album of the Year wins for any artist. Keep up-to-date on the full list of winners from the 2024 Grammys.

In other Swift news, the new legs of the “Eras Tour” are about to kick off in Japan. Check out the full list of her upcoming dates, and grab tickets here.
