Nu-Metal Band Enlists Taylor Swift Impersonator for Video

A Kansas City nu-metal band named Dirty Machine has unveiled a music video for their song “Ego Killer” featuring a Taylor Swift impersonator — just in time for the Super Bowl.

Frontman and Kansas City Chiefs fan David Leach told Fox Sports that the backlash against both the football team and tight end Travis Kelce’s relationship with Swift inspired the song and music video.

“I could see it [early on in the season], the team was going to come back, prove everyone wrong, and you were going to have Taylor Swift doing her thing and rocking up at the Super Bowl,” said Leach.

He added, “The Chiefs are the villains now; everyone is against us. We are in our Darth Vader stage, they hate us. Having Taylor Swift involved and be part of this great story just makes the haters even angrier. Our song ‘Ego Killer,’ that’s us talking to the football world and all the doubters.”

The video features Swift look-alike Allie Moss, who used to be a Marilyn Monroe impersonator. For the past five years, she’s been impersonating Swift, even appearing alongside a Travis Kelce doppelgänger at a recent event.

“It kind of doubles the fun, bringing together sports fans and music fans,” Moss told Fox Sports. “The Super Bowl is going to feel different this year and this makes it more interesting for a lot of people.”

Dirty Machine even got some real star power behind the song in the form of Sevendust drummer Morgan Rose, who co-produced and guests on the track.

Perhaps the Kansas City Chiefs can use the song as a rallying cry as they take on the San Francisco 49ers in the Super Bowl this Sunday (February 11th) — much like the Texas Rangers were inspired by Creed’s “Higher” on their way to a World Series championship this past fall.

Meanwhile, fans can catch the real Taylor Swift on her 2024 world tour, including a new run of North American dates in the fall. Pick up tickets to her stateside shows here, and her international gigs at this location.
