Miley Cyrus Wins Record of the Year for “Flowers” at 2024 Grammys

Miley Cyrus has won Record of the Year at the 2024 Grammys for “Flowers.” The track off her 2023 album, Endless Summer Vacation, beat out work from fellow nominees Taylor Swift (“Anti-Hero”), Billie Eilish (“What Was I Made For?”), Olivia Rodrigo (“Vampire”), Boygenius (“Not Strong Enough”), SZA (“Kill Bill”), Jon Batiste (“Worship”), and Victoria Monét (“On My Mama”). Presenting the award were Meryl Streep and Mark Ronson.

“Thank you all so much,” said Cyrus. “This award is amazing, but I really hope that it doesn’t change anything because my life was beautiful yesterday. Not everyone in the world will get a Grammy, but everyone in this world is spectacular. Please don’t think that this is important. Even though it’s very important, right guys? We’re very excited to put this on the piano.”

This award is the second-ever Grammy win for Cyrus. Her first came earlier in the evening when she won Best Pop Solo Performance for the same song. She was also nominated for Album of the Year (Endless Summer Vacation), Song of the Year (“Flowers”), Best Pop Vocal Album (Endless Summer Vacation), and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance (“Thousand Miles”).

Cyrus received her first Grammy nomination at the 2015 Grammy Awards, where Bangerz was up for Best Pop Vocal Album. Sam Smith’s debut album, In The Lonely Hour, ended up winning.
