Air Supply Biopic All Out of Love in the Works

The story of the British-Australian duo Air Supply will be made into a biopic currently slated for release in 2025.

Titled All Out of Love: The Air Supply Story, the biopic will track the origins and subsequent rise of Air Supply. The duo, comprised of singers and songwriters Graham Russell and Russell Hitchcock, initially met during a production of Jesus Christ Superstar, and teamed up to write and record soft-rock jams in Australia. Eventually, they found global success in the late ’70s and early ’80s. The film’s title gets its name from the duo’s iconic 1980 single, “All Out of Love.”

“The film explores the highs and lows of the band’s career and their rise to international fame,” reads the official logline for All Out of Love. “The story follows the two founding members of Air Supply, Graham Russell and Russell Hitchcock, as they navigate the challenges of pursuing their musical dreams in a competitive industry. From their humble beginnings in Australia to their breakthrough in the United States, the film delves into the personal and professional struggles they faced along the way.”

The biopic will be released in the summer of 2025 to coincide with Air Supply’s 50th anniversary. Dean Altit of Altit Media Group will produce, with Barry Seigel, Jesse Weiner, and Julia Xu serving as executive producers. Filming will commence in the fourth quarter of 2024 in Australia.

Air Supply’s Graham Russell recently stopped by The Story Behind the Song to break down the group’s seminal hit, “All Out of Love.” Listen to the episode below, or wherever you get your podcasts.
